What started out as a small production back in 2010, has now become one of the highlights of the I.S. 126 school culture. Our Multicultural Performance has become the crowning jewel of our school. It's a celebration of our vast school's cultural diversity.

Throughout the school year our students in the Multicultural Club work hard practicing dances that celebrate a different culture, country or dance style. Some of the dances are staples while others are introduced and created by the students themselves. The focus of the club is to encourage student leadership and creativity.

What makes this even special is that the entire school gets behind it. Students create the artwork and decorations as part of their class work and spend time in the auditorium putting it all up.

By the time the production is over, our students will have performed three times. We invite our local elementary schools to a performance, we perform for our own student body and then to our families and friends for an evening performance. After the evening show, we invite our family and friends to share a meal together. 

Our Spring performance is the core of our Multicultural Club, but in the winter of ‘25 it evolved by bringing together a special winter performance. Again, the dances were inspired by the students and the songs they wanted to dance to.
